Tweetie 2 has many definite improvements over Tweetie 1. But I switched to TweetDeck when it launched for the iPhone and because it syncs my “Group Columns” between my computer and iPhone, I find myself going back to TweetDeck more than Tweetie 2.

Yeah… nothing beats TweetDeck’s columns… but I found I have a better experience without the columns… that way if I miss something I just miss it and that seems to save me time.

Another thing I found I very much DISLIKE about Tweetie 2: When I launch it, if I was on the main screen, it says at the place I was and all the tweets that have arrived are now above the screen. I then have to scroooooooooll up to get to the most recent Tweets.
I’ve looked in the settings to see if there is a way to turn that off but haven’t found anything. For that reason alone I’ve stopped using it…

In TweetDeck, I have columns for “Hawaii” (all my friends on the island), and “Core” (my close “real” friends) and others like “Programmers” (for the Programmers and Designers I follow) so I can see what different sub-sets of the people I follow have discussed recently. You can believe the chatter in the “Hawaii” group is very different than my main stream…
Even after slimming my “Following” list down to 500+- from 1000, there’s still too much noise in my main stream. So I moved my “Core” column to the first position and now when TweetDeck opens it opens to my Core group.
It’s cool to have 2 great Twitter clients to choose from!

Yay
This was fun to watch – always good to see you two in front of the camera. And man *sigh* I need an iPhone just so I can put Tweetie 2 on it.
